JCHC hosted the 4th grade classes of Mrs. Wendy Ferguson, Mrs. Jamie Grace and Bridget Wingard at the JCHS Park on May 15th, 2025. This “Kids to Parks” event is funded by National Park Trust. This year was C-L’s 2nd year at the Park for this annual event. The students rotated through 5 educational nature, cultural history and activity stations: Native Plant Pond – Pollinator Habitat (presenters Dana Hannibel and Megan Whitlatch, Jefferson County Conservation District), Forestry (presented by Dale Luthringer, DCNR Education Specialist at Cook Forest & Clear Creek State Parks), Tour of the Rocks (presenters JCHS Board President Larry Anthony & Board Director Greg Snyder), Native American Rockshelter (presented by JCHS Member Walter Skryzpec), and Activity Station manned by JCHS Board Secretary Deb Searls and JCHC Executive Director Kat Lyons. The students, teachers and aides all had a great time, as did the presenters.
