Awards Presented by JCHS

Each year, JCHS recognizes groups or individuals who have significantly furthered the mission of the historical society through their efforts to preserve and or make available in some unique way the history of Jefferson County. Anyone is welcome to submit a recommendation for any of the awards by contacting JCHS and providing a brief summary of the nominee’s contribution.

JCHS Lifetime Achievement Award

Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a member or members in recognition of extended service and significant contributions to the success of the Jefferson County Historical Society.

Volunteer of the Year Award

Volunteer of the Year Award is given to a member or non-member in recognition of their volunteer service on multiple projects in support of the success of JCHS.

Arthur Altman Award

Presented annually in recognition of a JCHS member who has contributed to preserving the history in Jefferson County.
